I spent the first half of 2017 as the artist in Residence for Reviresco a Community Art Project for the lancashire mill town of Rishton, funded by The Arts Council England.
The aim of the project was to use art as a catalyst to unite and strengthen the community by remembering our great industrial past and looking forward to our future and was based in Piggy Park, a community food growing garden in the town.
During the 7 months I worked with 16 schools and community groups to create...
- Community murals
- A mosaic bench.
- Printed calico bunting wish flags (Rishton's famous for it's calico)
- Willow/tissue sculptures for the Rishton Festival parade.
- 'The Felt Potting Shed', a wet felted tent made entirely from British wool dyed using local plants and used for the final exhibition at the Rishton Festival.

The Felt Potting Shed
In our final workshops we created willow and tissue puppets for the Rishton Festival. It was a great way to celebrate our 7 creative months.
Thanks to everyone who took part in the project. Now that we've shown what a creative community we are lets keep going.
